Windows Phone launch date confirmed, hardware leaked

As if we hadn’t had enough hints already, it now looks confirmed that Windows Phone 7 will be launching to the public next Monday on the 11th of October. Engadget have dug up details from the Microsoft events site which apparently confirm the previously announced press conference in New York will be the Windows Phone 7 annoncement, along with a range of T-Mobile phones on the platform.

In related news, earlier today it was leaked that HTC’s Mozart hardware may be available late in October. Mozart is similar hardware to the HTC Desire and Google Nexus One, with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm and an 8 megapixel camera.

Half way through last month the final version of the Windows Phone Developer tools were released, allowing anyone to build Windows Phone 7 applications for free. Later in the month, the ability to work with VB and bring Windows Phone projects into Expression Blend was added.
